Men and women of communities throughout North America are joining together to send our youth into the future as leaders for human kind by providing a weekend of leadership, fun, and teamwork. The Young Men's and Women's Alpha Leadership Quests encourage the spirit of responsibility and awakens leadership in young people's lives.

In the spirit and tradition of great historical and mythical quests of the past, young men divide into teams and are sent on their urgent journey. Along the way, each team is presented with a series of challenges which reveal a trait fundamental to successful leadership. The journey will inspire the young men to think, build, discover and use a wide range of skills and talents as leaders and teammates.

The unique challenges presented cause young men to look within themselves to discover and develop these leaderships traits, and encourages them to help fellow teammates to do the same, in order to successfully complete the Quest. They will all have moments where they surprise themselves -- with what they know or what they can accomplish or just how valuable they are to the world!

Alpha Leadership's Role in Youth Development

Alpha Leaders cause most of the large movements in society. They set contexts, hold great visions, forge responsible action, assure quality, and cause results to be delivered, and they move others to higher levels of performance. They improve the quality and performance of those around them--at home, at school, in their jobs, and in their life.

Alpha Leadership Quests for young people from the ages of 9 to 17 provide many opportunities to learn skills and form relationships that will help them become our finer leaders. It combines experiences in leadership with a context of discovery that provides frequent opportunities to explore their role as a member of a team and the larger group. The goal of each Alpha Leadership Quest is the realization that we must lead and work together to accomplish what we set out to cause.

Young men's programs of discovery have been around for hundreds of years. Only recently has society rediscovered that these events can provide experiences that will shape attitudes toward discipline and team work that young people need to become fully-functioning contributors to society and all their relationships, large and small. Through Alpha Leadership there comes this realization: everything we do affects a much larger circle of people and events than usually considered. This is especially important for boys and girls who are in the midst of their teen years and adolescent development.
